Sierra Leone Police IG Cries For Help As Police Force Runs Into Critical Financial State

The Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, Dr. Richard Moigbe has decried the financial state of the force lamenting poor budget funding of the force since August 2018.

Richard Moigbe who recently appeared before the Parliament Committe to defend about 800 billion leones 2019 budget of the police raised concerns over the 2017/2018 budget which is he said is yet to be fully supplied.

Moigbe revealed that the Police force has not been receiving its allocation as at when due since August 2018. He added at whenever the allocation comes in, it usually grossly inadequate to cover the expenses of the force.

He noted that the Police Force has only been surviving on its little revenue which is usually not enough to cater for it needs. He added that there is no more Rice Supply And Soon No More Fuel Supply if nothing is done to clear the 2017/2018 Budget back-log rice and many of its monthly needs.

He urged the committe to look into the issue.
