Sierra Leone thrashed Tanzania by 8 wickets in their opening match in the ongoing ICC Africa U19 Division 2 Qualifier tournament in South Africa.
John Bangura and Emmanuel Akpoh, members of the victorious Prince of Wales School team that won the 2014 edition of the Inter-Secondary School League within Sierra Leone, batted steadily against the Tanzania spinners and pace bowlers to ensure their team won the match in convincing style.
Chernoh Bah displayed fantastic skills with the ball as he took 5 wickets for 20 runs in 8 overs. Bah was a class above the Tanzania youngsters and put his team into a dominating position.
Chernoh Bah was named the player of the Match Award.
Both Chernoh Bah and John Bangura are youngsters who have gone through the Kent Cricket Club youth system. This a symbol that Kent CC is a club developing the future cricketers for Sierra Leone.
