Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Chernor Bah, said the news making rounds in the social media about the party planning to expel Hon. Mohamed Bangura is fake news.
“Our party has never thought of expelling any of our MPs and we will not do that without having very tangible reason. We want the public to know that it is fake news and we are working together to make sure we speak with one voice as we are not afraid of the Commission of Enquiry, but we just want it to be done properly.”
Hon. Bah said the party is not having any meetings concerning expulsion, but rather if we have to meet is to chart the way forward for the development of the party.
He said people can be so mischievous to the point that they are looking for ways to bring disrepute to the party.
Cornelius Deveaux, the APC Publicity Secretary also disputed the news about Hon. Bangura being expelled. He said the news was false and was baseless.
When asked about the report from the nine man committee, he said due to various challenges, they had not been able to finish. But, he said, very soon they will finish and the report will be handed to the party’s executive as most of the members are anxious to know the fate of the party.
