No fewer than 70 children and WAEC examiners have been arrested and are being transported to the police Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters in Freetown, according to the ACC boss Francis Ben Kaifala.
It followed a joint sting operation by the anticorruption commission and the Central Intelligence Security Unit (CISU) who met the students rewriting the school-leaving WASSCE exams somewhere at Aberdeen Road using fresh answer booklets apparently supplied by the WAEC Examiners.
“All exhibits are securely in the hands of the ACC as are the suspects”, Keifala says.
Police and anti-corruption investigators are busy obtaining statements from the dozens of students as at Press time.
In addition to the question papers and answer booklets, the exhibits include loads of condoms and DRAGON which is said to be an aphrodisiac spray.
